CEA CommPACT Schools need your help

posted Dec 11, 2009, 8:11 AM by Website Manager

CEA and its partners have created CommPACT schools (Community, Parents, Administrators, Children and Teachers).
These schools are located in Hartford, Bridgeport, Waterbury, New Haven and New London.
It is a reform model that works with ALL the students at the school and is research based, with the help of UCONN's NEAGG School of Education.
These schools are in their infancy but are already showing promise, unfortunately the recent recommended cuts by the Governor would cut 1/2 ($320,00) of the funding to the schools, which will kill the program.  I am asking to help your colleagues and take a few seconds to contact your legislator to tell him/her that funding to these schools must be preserved.
Reforming urban education is a challenge and we are facing that challenge head on,we need legislative support to continue.
